This week Michael ask us about our ideas for our remixing video, many students have brilliant ideas and I had my own as well. Brainstorming is always the hardest part of all, takes me quite sometime and I did some research on the remix video I wanted to do which is related to environment. Looking through youtube, vimeo and other video website to look for creative commons video, I noticed that it is not easy to look for the material you need especially those who have free license ones.
After done many researching and surfing, I came out with an idea and i shared in class which is create a PSA (public service announcement) regarding conserving the water, it would be a great way to give a wake up call for the people who treat water as granted and wasted without thinking. As an environment committee in Charles Darwin University's accommodation, I would like to take this opportunity not only to give awareness to students but guiding them in using water in a proper way.
After sharing my idea with Michael, he seems like the idea of mine and give me some advice on looking for sources. After that I took my time to find cc footage as many as possible. Meanwhile, we have given our second task which is playing around with Final Cut Pro, it is the easiest part for me because Michael teach us from the basic as some students do not have experiences in this, I hate the short cut button because it is different from what I used to (Adobe Premiere Pro), for example C for cut in APP but for FCP is B for Blade. I have trouble while keep using short cut and keep pressing the wrong button.
Anyways, basically this week is about gathering source materials and learn some techniques in FCP.
