Week 4: Basic FCP - Motion

Today we learn about motion in FCP, it is the easy way to make your videos move around by just adjust the volume in the effects you like, the most important thing is to understand the keyframes.

What is a Keyframe?
Key frame in animation and filmmaking is a drawing that defines the starting and ending points of any smooth transition. They are called "frames" because their position in time is measured in frames on a strip of film. A sequence of keyframes defines which movement the viewer will see, whereas the position of the keyframes on the film, video or animation defines the timing of the movement. Because only two or three keyframes over the span of a second do not create the illusion of movement, the remaining frames are filled with in betweens. (Taken in Wikipedia)

Our task of the day is to put some motion in our video to make it more interesting, for example apply rotation on the video make it rotate from small to big. This technique normally we can see in advertisement or promotional videos, the motion of a video emphasise on that part of clip and drag the attention of viewer.
